Lutetium-177 for neuroendocrine tumours, I-131 radioactive iodine for thyroid cancer, plus I-131 MIBG, Actinium, Radium and TARE. Several of these are given in metastatic disease.

Check-up packages are standard procedures with a set fee, so we publish them. Cancer treatment is not a standard procedure. Any treatment figure we printed here would be a prediction about a patient we have not met.

⛔ A scan is not something to buy because you are worried. PET/CT uses ionising radiation. It is not a screening test for people without symptoms or a clinical reason. The right order is the other way round. Speak to a doctor first, and book a scan only if it will answer a question. We would rather lose the booking than sell you one you do not need.

What does cancer treatment abroad cost? That is usually the first question, and the honest answer is that it differs per case. Are you also looking at Germany, or at treatment in Belgium? Compare more than the price: compare what is inside it and who reads your file.
Some platforms will give you a cancer treatment price before anyone has read your pathology report. That number is not a quote. It is an estimate for an imagined patient. In oncology the gap between that patient and the real one is very wide.
Cost depends on the type and the stage. It also depends on what treatment has already been given, and on what the tumour board decides. Two people with the same diagnosis can end up with very different plans. So we work the other way round. You share your file, the hospital reviews it, and then the hospital prices your case.

Once you share the details of your case, the hospital prepares an offer for you personally. That offer can come out above or below any figure you have seen elsewhere. There is no shelf package to buy.

An offer raises one question straight away. Will my insurance pay for this? Most platforms hand that question back to you.
Here we take it off your hands. Are you insured? We ask you for the insurance details and pass them to the hospital. Based on their offer the hospital speaks to your insurer. They check the limits and what is covered, and you hear it while you are still at home.
⛔ This is not a promise of cover. The answer can be that your policy pays nothing. That is still worth knowing before you book a flight, not after you arrive. What we can tell you is that the question gets asked, by the hospital, in writing.
When a second opinion is worth it, and when it is not
A second opinion is most useful when the plan is not yet fixed. It is least useful when the decision has already been made and you are happy with it. Here is the honest split.

You do not need new tests for it. The pathology report and the imaging you already have are what the specialist reads. We wrote about that in a second opinion on your scan.
Waiting for an appointment is also not wasted time. Your file can be reviewed while you wait, and your place in the queue does not change. That is covered in what a second opinion can do while you wait.
Often the second specialist agrees with the first. That is a useful answer too. You stop wondering whether something was missed, and you carry on with more confidence in the plan.
What the hospital needs from you, and why a complete file is faster
This list comes from our partner BHT Clinic's own oncology intake document. Sending a complete file the first time is the single thing that moves everything along. An incomplete one goes back and forth for days.

Do I get the second-opinion fee back?
If you go on to take a treatment package from that hospital, yes. The fee you paid their doctor for the second opinion is refunded to you.
Do I get anything in writing?
Yes. You can download it from the platform as an epicrisis report, in PDF. Nothing is sent automatically, you pull it when you want it. You can share it with the team treating you at home.
What happens after I am handed over to the hospital?
The hospital runs the medical process. Where the case calls for it, their tumour board reviews it. We stay in touch with you and follow the flow. Dr. Fikret remains reachable, and chronic follow-up and post-treatment monitoring are described on his page.
Can I get an online cancer second opinion from abroad, without travelling?
Yes. It is an online consultation with a licensed specialist. They read your pathology report and imaging before the call. Nothing about it requires you to travel, and it commits you to nothing.
Do I need new scans and a new biopsy?
Usually not. The specialist reads the pathology report and the images you already have. New tests are only requested if the existing ones are too old or cannot answer the question.
How do I get cancer treatment abroad?
You write to us and a doctor answers. He collects your pathology report, your imaging and your treatment history. We take that file to a partner hospital and read what comes back. If you are insured, we pass your insurance details to them as well. Only then does medical travel become a real decision. You choose with a plan and a figure in front of you.
Do you handle advanced or metastatic cancer?
Our partner hospital's oncology department treats advanced and metastatic disease. Interventional oncology, radionuclide therapy and MR-Linac radiotherapy are all used at that stage. Whether any of them suits your case is a question for the specialist who reads your file. Not for a web page.
Why is there no price list for cancer treatment on this page?
Because cancer treatment is priced per case. The cost depends on the type and the stage. Previous treatment and the board's decision also change it. A number published before your file is read is an estimate, not a quote.
Will my insurance cover treatment abroad?
We cannot answer that for your policy, and nor can the hospital until they ask. But you do not have to predict it. Are you insured? We ask you for the insurance details and pass them to the hospital. Based on their offer they speak to your insurer about the limits and the cover. You get that answer before you travel.
What if my insurer covers nothing?
That is a possible answer, and you will be told it plainly. Knowing it at home is the point. You decide with the real number in front of you. You do not find it out at the hospital reception.
What is a tumour board, and can my file go to it from abroad?
It is a meeting where specialists from every field involved agree on one plan. At Hisar Hospital that board has 17 physicians. But a file cannot be put in front of it remotely. The board reviews patients who are being treated at the hospital. A remote second opinion is a different product.
What is the difference between the free conversation and the paid second opinion?
The free conversation is with Dr. Fikret. He listens, takes your reports and tells you which route fits. No medical advice is given in it. The paid second opinion is where a licensed specialist reads the file and gives an opinion. It comes out as a written PDF.
Can I keep my own oncologist at home?
Yes, and we expect you to. A second opinion is a reading of your file, not a transfer of care. You take the answers back to the team treating you.
What documents should I send?
Pathology report, imaging, previous treatment history, surgical records, recent blood tests and a list of your current medicines. The full list is in the section above, taken from our partner hospital's own intake document.
Do you treat children with cancer?
Paediatric oncologic surgery is available at our partner hospital. Its haematology department is described as adult only. For childhood blood disorders and cancers, Rehealth offers a separate online second opinion with a paediatric haematologist-oncologist.
What is an MR-Linac?
A radiotherapy machine combined with a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner. It images the tumour immediately before and during treatment. The plan can be adjusted while the patient is on the table. Relatively few centres in Europe have one.
Can I book a PET/CT scan without a referral?
You can, but we would rather you did not book it blindly. PET/CT uses ionising radiation and it is not a screening test. Speak to a doctor first and book the scan only if it will answer a specific question.
How quickly will someone come back to me?

In which languages can I speak to a doctor?
Most doctors on the platform speak English, and several speak Turkish. Each doctor's languages are shown on their card in the app before you book.

You choose which documents to share. You upload them in the app, not by email or a messaging app. They are handled under European data rules.
What happens if the second opinion agrees with my own doctor?
That is a useful outcome. You stop wondering whether something was missed. You continue your treatment at home with more confidence in the plan.
Can I travel abroad after cancer treatment?
That is a call for the team treating you. It depends on your treatment and where you are in it. Are you asking because you want another opinion first? Then you do not need to travel at all. The second opinion is online.
Does a second opinion help while I am waiting?

Why would a biopsy be sent for a second opinion?
Pathology is a reading task. The diagnosis from a biopsy is one pathologist's interpretation of that slide. Another pathologist can look at the same slide and describe it differently. If the type, the subtype or the grade changes, the treatment plan changes with it. That is why slides or digital images are often sent for a second reading in cancer cases. At Rehealth that is exactly what a second opinion is: a re-reading of the file you already have. No new biopsy is needed.
How good is medical care in Turkey?
A one-word answer would be wrong, because hospitals in Turkey are not all the same. What matters is the hospital and the team, not the country. Check these: international accreditation, how often they do your treatment, whether a tumour board meets, what intensive care backup exists, and what happens if there is a complication. Every hospital that joins our network is reviewed by our medical advisory board first. Put these questions to the team directly during the call and ask for the answers in writing.
Can any of the treatment happen at home?
The treatment itself takes place in hospital. The process around it does not all happen there. The second opinion consultation is online, from home, with no travel. Preparing the file and sharing reports and images also runs from home through the app. After you return, follow-up questions go to your care team through the app as well. Treatment delivered at home, such as chemotherapy at home, is not something our network offers. That is a conversation for your doctor in your own country.
